Anchor Point

Rather than simply bottling the whiskey at cask strength, the team approached Anchor Point as a study in accessibility without compromise. Under Roy Milner’s direction, multiple proof points were evaluated to find the point at which the bourbon held onto its body and structure while allowing more delicate flavors to come forward. That place was 94 proof.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Orange citrus leads immediately, more amplified and expressive than in the original Foundation. It opens with a wooden chocolate-orange character, supported by soft vanilla and a subtle tannic structure that still gives the whiskey body and frame.

Palate

Creamy and highly approachable, the palate reveals orange dreamsicle, vanilla, and light milk chocolate. The brighter, upper-register notes take center stage here, bringing floral fruit and citrus forward in a way the higher-proof Foundation held more tightly beneath its structure.

Finish

The finish is soft, clean, and composed, with light oak, citrus zest, and a gentle creamy sweetness that lingers without heaviness. It remains flavorful and complete, but without the struggle often associated with higher-proof pours.
